Service Description
Thinking about therapy work with your dog? Wanting to improve your dog's manners? This 6-week program is designed to prepare you and your dog for success in the AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluation- a nationally recognized standard of good behavior for dogs in every day life at home and in their communities. You'll work one-on-one with a professional trainer to build reliable manners in the community. Each 1 hour session includes real-world environmental training, helping your dog stay focused and confident around common distractions like people, dogs, and busy settings. We'll cover all 10 CGC test items, including loose leash walking, polite greetings, basic obedience, and supervised separation. The course concludes with the official CGC test and the option to earn your dog's CGC title. This program is for dogs over 1 year of age who have a solid foundation in basic skills and are looking to advance. This program is a pre-requisite for the Therapy Dog Certification program.
